How UESI Start in Goa ?
UESI ministry in Goa began in 1978, when Prof. A. J. Varghese and his wife Elizabeth started student fellowships while serving in a local polytechnic. UESI staff like P. C. Varghese and Jonathan Maraj supported these early efforts, leading to retreats and Bible studies across campuses. By the mid-80s, the first EU cell group was started at Goa Engineering College under the leadership of Vichoto Achumi.
The 1990s saw growth as Emmanuel and Mercy Benjamin served as staff workers, supported by graduates like Dr. Jojen Matthew and Dr. James Samuel. After a brief gap, staff workers Anando and Abuno (2011–2017) revived the ministry, affiliating the GEC EU with UESI in 2017. The ministry expanded with help from graduates and churches, activating the Goa EGF committee.

How UESI Start ?
The Union of Evangelical Students of India (UESI) began its journey in 1954 with a vision to evangelize and disciple students across India. Over the decades, this movement expanded to various states, including Goa.
In Goa, UESI’s presence was established through the dedication of students and graduates who initiated prayer cells and Bible study groups in colleges. These gatherings fostered spiritual growth and fellowship among students, aligning with UESI’s mission to nurture disciples of Jesus Christ.
Today, UESI Goa continues to impact students by organizing regular Bible studies, leadership training, and outreach programs, aiming to transform campuses and society through the gospel.
